Petty’s Garage is pleased to announce the release of our GEN 3 HEMI ported heads. Previously available only on our performance HEMI long-blocks and in-house builds, they are now accessible as stand-alone parts.
These CNC ported heads strike an amazing balance of raw horsepower and exceptional street manners. Our secret is achieving equilibrium of flow between intake and exhaust ports. Competitors will tout the flow number of their intake ports; others might even talk about flow through the exhaust ports. We think about the entire system. It’s not enough to get the fuel / air mixture into the cylinder, it’s still got to come out. Too much of one and not enough of the other will hurt performance. And this is only the beginning, other factors such as induction method, cam profile, compression ratio and vehicle use should be considered as well. Once a design is finalized, intense dyno testing is required to verify the performance gains.
One head does not fit all. That’s why here at Petty’s we offer profiles for Naturally Aspirated, Forced Induction and a design specifically for the Hellcat / Redeye / TRX 6.2L engines. For example, our Apache and BGE 6.4L heads have a quench area added to the combustion chamber in heads intended for use in forced induction applications. This aids in prevention of detonation and allows for more aggressive timing maps.
