For automatic transmission applications, ARP’s flexplate have large, flat 12-point heads to distribute the clamping load better than OEM bolts, plus they’re made of heat-treated 8740 chrome-moly steel and far stronger than factory and Grade 8 hardware. They have a larger-than stock shank diameter for increased strength and improved flywheel register. All ARP fasteners have threads that are rolled (not cut) after heat treatment.
